F53 seeks to dilute the limits of the kitchen, to generate a domestic, flexible and non-hierarchical space which encourages a place of meeting and exchange. In this way, the kitchen is determined by three pieces of furniture that places the "hearth" once again at the center of the house, transforming the ritual of cooking and creating experiences that allow the user to fully recover their senses.
It serves as a project guide and a tool during production. It operates as an instrument that allows users to configure different realities and adapt the product to the specific characteristics of their space. As a set of interconnected units, it responds to indeterminacy and promotes dynamic, flexible environments that can evolve with the users' needs.
The home is, by definition, the space in which the individual lives, and to which it brings an emotional dimension that transcends the material condition of the dwelling; It is also the place where the fire is made, the core of cooking activities. The kitchen table, by which this room was defined, determined the central space of production until the consolidation of the modern floorplan during the first half of the 20th century. The archetypical table - a plank placed on two trestles - suggests a dynamic, variable and improvised installation for gathering. This image of celebration has perpetuated itself in the collective imaginary since the late 1400s thanks to Da Vinci's representation of “The Last Supper” depicted on the walls of Santa Maria delle Grazie. These symbolic references are reinterpreted in the F53 workbench with a vision of the 21st century.
The careful selection of materials and manufacturing processes is one of its most notable qualities of the product. The F53 workbench was developed as a system to be easily transported and assembled in the place of its installation. Selected oak wood was used for its countertops and a sintered surface (Dekton) for surfaces that require water and fire resistance. The structure is made of galvanized steel, finished with powder-coating paint. The processing of these materials is carried out locally, with special emphasis on the search for a careful balance between contemporary production systems and artisan craft techniques.
